MEDICAL DESCRIPTION OF DOXYTOP TABLET:

The Doxytop tablet contains Doxycycline (100mg) a tetracycline used to treat bacterial infections in the ear, throat, lungs, nose, skin, tonsils, and urinary tract infections. It is also used to treat acne. It produces its action by inhibiting the growth of microbes responsible for infections. 

USE OF DOXYTOP TABLET(Indication of Doxycycline):  

It is used to treat bacterial infections, malaria prevention, and acne. 

DOXYTOP TABLET BENEFITS:

Bacterial infections:

This infection usually occurs when microbes enter your body and start to multiply which damages the tissue and makes you sick. It is caused by organisms like Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. Symptoms include sweats, fever, chills, diarrhea, headache, and stomach pain.

Malaria prophylaxis:

Malaria is a speard to humans through mosquitoes, it is a parasitic infection and caused by the Plasmodium parasite. Symptoms include fever, headache, sweating, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and an enlarged liver. Doxycycline used in the treatment to prevent malaria.

Acne:

It is a common condition which causes pimples. This usually occurs when hair follicles get plugged with oil and dead skin cells due to excess production of oil, bacteria, and inflammation. Symptoms include blackheads, whiteheads, bumps, pus-filled lumps, and pimples.

Yes, the use of this medicine may cause diarrhea because using this medicine can kill both harmful and nonharmful bacteria in your stomach which leads to diarrhea. 

What if I do not get better after using the Doxytop tablet?

HOW TO TAKE A DOXYTOP TABLET:

Doxycycline gives better results when you take the medicine with food, take the tablet fully, and do not chew or crush the tablet. Take the tablets as per the dose prescribed by the doctor. Do not take extra doses and dosage of the medicine, it may lead to undesired and unwanted effects.

If you are suffering from diarrhea, stomach pain, etc

DRUG INTERACTION WITH DOXYTOP TABLET

Interaction with the drugs:

Doxycycline decreases the effect of BCG vaccine by pharmacodynamic antagonism 

Amobarbital decreases the effect of doxycycline by increasing its metabolism 

Doxycycline will increase the level of digoxin by changing its intestinal flora. 

Doxycycline increases the effect of methotrexate by decreasing its elimination

Sucralfate decreases the effect of doxycycline by inhibiting the absorption of the gastrointestinal tract

OVERDOSE

Consume the medicine as per the doctor’s advice and prescribed dose and dosage. Do not take any extra dose of medicine. If you have taken the overdose/extra dose of the medicine immediately visit the doctor or nearby hospital for medical consultation.

MISSED DOSE

Consume the medicine as per the doctor’s advice and prescribed dose and dosage.do not miss or forget to take the medicine. Suppose you miss or forget to take the medicine, don’t take the extra dose of the medicine, skip the missed dose, and take the regular dose of medicine. Avoid taking the missed dose or two times of the medicine to compensate for the missed dose. 

Conditions of Storage:

Store the medicine at 30°c at room temperature.
