MEDICAL DESCRIPTION OF TOFAHEAL TABLET:

Tofaheal Tablet contains Tofacitinib (5mg) a Janus kinase inhibitor used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis. It produces its action by reducing the inflammation which is responsible for pain, tenderness, and swelling in your joints thus it helps to decrease the progression of both joint and bone damage. 

USE OF TOFAHEAL TABLET (Indication of Tofacitinib):   

It is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis.

Rheumatoid arthritis:

HOW THE TOFAHEAL TABLET WORKS:

Tofaheal Tablet contains Tofacitinib (5mg) a Janus kinase inhibitor that produces its action by inhibiting the enzyme (Janus Kinase) which is responsible for inflammation. This helps to decrease the activity of the immune system and treat joint pain and inflammation. 

CONTRAINDICATION OF TOFAHEAL TABLET:

If you are allergic to tofacitinib and its combinations, it is advisable not to consume the medicine. It is contraindicated to use this medicine in patients who are at high risk of developing serious infections, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and blood clots because it may worsen their condition.

HOW TO TAKE A TOFAHEAL TABLET:

tofacitinib gives better results when you take the medicine with food or without, take the capsule fully, and do not chew or crush the capsule. Take the capsules as per the dose prescribed by the doctor. Do not take extra doses and dosage of the medicine, it may lead to undesired and unwanted effects.

If you have a medical history of GI tract disease 

If you have an immunodeficiency disease like HIV/AIDS

If you have allergic conditions like itching and rashes 

If you are planning to become pregnant or currently under the breastfeed 

If you are suffering from diarrhea, stomach pain, etc

DRUG INTERACTION WITH TOFAHEAL TABLET

Interaction with the drugs:

Azathioprine and tofacitinib increase the toxicity of the other by producing immunosuppressive effects

Betamethasone and tofacitinib increases the risk of infection 

Chloramphenicol will increase the effect of tofacitinib by affecting its intestinal and liver enzyme metabolism 

OVERDOSE

Consume the medicine as per the doctor’s advice and prescribed dose and dosage. Do not take any extra dose of medicine. If you have taken the overdose/extra dose of the medicine immediately visit the doctor or nearby hospital for medical consultation.

MISSED DOSE

Consume the medicine as per the doctor’s advice and prescribed dose and dosage.do not miss or forget to take the medicine. Suppose you miss or forget to take the medicine, don’t take the extra dose of the medicine, skip the missed dose, and take the regular dose of medicine. Avoid taking the missed dose or two times of the medicine to compensate for the missed dose.

Store the medicine at 30°c at room temperature.
